ELECTROCHEMICAL POLISHING OF ALUMINIUM

Electrochemical polishing (electrolyte polishing) is the process that enables finishing of the metal surface so that a smooth and spectacularly shining surface of the treated metal is achieved. To reach the best possible result it is recommended to perform abrasive grinding and polishing of the material at first and then subject the surface to electrolytic treatment. When such a sequence of operations is maintained and the treated alloy is suitable for electrochemical polishing, the final surface is perfectly smooth and shining.

THE FINAL EFFECT OF ELECTROCHEMICAL POLISHING DEPENDS ON:

  • Composition and facture of the treated material (Table with alloys)
  • Degree of the surface hardness
  • Initial treatment (machining) of the surface.

INFORMATION FOR CUSTOMERS

A. With submission of an order for the service of electrochemical polishing the following details must be specified:

  1. The alloy the workpieces are made,
  2. Hardness of the alloy surface,
  3. Required thickness of anodized coating
  4. Possible locations of electric contacts

B. We are capable of polishing

  1. Shaped sections with the length up to 3.60 m
  2. Small components

Use the following aluminium grades as base metal guarantees mirror-like shine of the polished surfaces.
